Our Pastor and Family
At age 12, Joshua Caraway felt the call to preach. At Ft. Meade, Fl, in 1989, Bro. Josh took his call and preached his first message. From that moment, even through the ups and downs of adolescent years, Joshua Caraway kept true to his calling, turning down earthly childhood dreams to fulfill his calling in the ministry.
In January of 1998, a year after he received his exhorters license, he married the one who holds his missing rib, Rachel Chutter, now Caraway. Sis. Rachel had been her church’s pianist since she was 11, and still holds her position as pianist at the Clewiston Church of God. Along with being a pianist, Sis Rachel also sings and writes songs (as she is led by God), works in the young adult ministry, and will fill in where and when needed.
Only a few short months after marriage, Bro. Josh and Sis. Rachel started pastoring. Between 1998 to 2006, they pastored three different churches, completed the Ministerial Internship Program (MIP), then felt the call to take their life (and their three young children) on the road as evangelists. During his first year on the road (on December 6, 2006), he became an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God.
On June 25, 2008, Bro. Josh became the pastor of the Clewiston Church of God. He, his wife, and their three children (Hannah, Rebeccah, and Josh) have wept with the passing of their members’ loved ones, rejoiced with the salvation of new souls, delighted in the births and dedications of their members’ newborn babes, stood firm through persecution, labored for the Kingdom, and are still striving to fulfill and complete the work God has placed in their lives.
